Jason Nazary

American drummer Jason Nazary has linked up with an array of guest talents for his debut album on We Jazz. The Brooklynite recorded the whole thing at his home in the Spring of 2020 and was inspired by a break from live music. That meant he composed the songs in an improvisational way with the likes of trumpet player Jaimie Branch. All nine tunes are fresh and contemporary takes with the likes of ‘Weird Little Gopher’ pilling up broken glass, tumbling, tightly programmed drums and characterful synth sounds into something rhythmically inventive and decidedly DIY.
