Produced by Bob Thiele in 1969 for the Flying Dutchman label, the exceptional solo debut-LP by Leon Thomas sees a splendid vinyl reissue on 180-GRAM VINYL, complete with remastered audio and reproduced artwork. Backed by a.o. bassist Cecil McBee, flutist James Spaulding, Roy Haynes, Lonnie Liston Smith, Richard Davis and Pharoah Sanders (listed here as “Little Rock”), Thomas’ patented yodel is in fine shape here, displayed alongside his singular lyric style and scat singing trademark.
