Richard Sen
India Man
Richard Sen has always been a counter-cultural hero. He was one of the first wave of UK graffiti writers and ended up doing time for it before having his work used on the covers of two seminal Sabres of Paradise tunes, 'Smokebelch' and 'Theme'. Now he debuts with a solo album that blends Indian, Persian and Western sounds into India Man, a tasteful and Balearic outing on Do You. It's packed with catchy grouches and worldly synth sounds that range from the exotic to the erotic and the hypnotic. 'Proto-Dravidian' is a particular standout with its shimmering synths and 'Mysteries Of Meluhha' mines a more cosmic vein of chugging sound.
