Klaus Doldinger Passport, Klaus Doldinger

Since 1971, saxophonist Klaus Doldinger has mostly recorded creative fusion under the group name of "Passport." This Amiga LP features his soprano and occasional tenor backed by a five-piece rhythm section comprised of some top German musicians. The music, all composed by Doldinger, effectively mixes together R&B, rock, pop and even some straightahead jazz into an impressive brew with Doldinger often extending himself with challenging solos. Several of the melodies are memorable, there are a wide variety of moods and grooves covered and the album is proof that fusion can be played with imagination.
