Arto Mwambe ‎– Duster FC

To coincide with their superlative entry into the Live At Robert Johnson mix series, German duo Arto Mwambe conjure up an EP for the club stroke label which reaches just as high in the impress-your-ears stakes. Centre stage are two exclusive Arto Mwambe live set secret weapons in the title track and “One Lonely Knight”. “Duster FC” is all about that alluring piano melody that rises and falls betwixt the hypnotic arrangement of glistening chords and loose claps. The ominous jack of “One Lonely Knight” is a brilliant homage to the late eighties Detroit sound of acts such as Inner City. “Midi Vice”, one of the many tracks on the duo’s aforementioned live mix, gets the remix treatment here with the Sex Tags Mania crew dropping two rerubs – the first deep and shuffling with a slightly ominous tone, the second a brilliantly cavernous metallic effort with killer organ flourishes in the mid section. Don’t sleep on this one.
