Various ‎– Risks Issues Opportunities | R.I.O.

Third release by the Berlin based R.i.O. crew with their attempt to “shift the perception of reality”. I’m just totally into the dramatic synth sound on Houschyar’s Melanzani, the fuzzy guitar on Dolphins’ Last Tango and the overall melancholic vibe of this release.

Trimopen ‎– Freiheit Den Rhythmusknechten | Heat, Beat, Meat Records

I never get tired of the 1985 UV Black Light cover art on this LP, which delivers exactly what’s promised in the title (Freedom for the Rhythm Slaves) – German free form percussion at its best. Wagagroove is also featured on the Tropical Drums of Deutschland compilation curated by Jan Schulte.

Heilige 3 Könige ‎– Heiraten Und Mehr | Mond Musik

Instant smiles and laughs whenever this one is put on. Been on the hunt for some inspiration for your marriage proposal – look no further! “The Three Kings”  are here to help in their goofy German 80s kinda way. Sought after release on Alexander Arpeggio’s Mond Musik label.

Captain Future – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack | Private Records

German Schlager Star Christian Bruhn showcasing his slightly lesser known side in full perfection with his composition for the Captain Future Anime when released to the German market. Timeless!

Liquid Canoe ‎– Liquid Canoe | Growing Bin Records

Slow, comforting and mind teasing canoe trip on Basso’s Growing Bin imprint. Beautiful, ‘nough said.

Supersempfft ‎– Out Of Time | CBS

Dieter Kolb and Franz Aumüller doing their thing under their Supersempfft moniker. Out Of Time is a typical example of their quirky take on Space Disco but then you flip the record and Let’s Beam Him Up just gets you and at least makes me always double check if the release really is from 1979. Oooof!

Peter Lüdemann / Pit Troja ‎– The Now Generation (Percussive Underscores) | Be With Records

I might have a thing for releases on Gunter Greffenius’ Coloursound Library and the artworks by his wife Waltraud, however this definitely is a lovely reissue of Peter Lüdemann’s and Pit Troja’s “Documentary and industrial underlays for current themes of modern life.”

ERA – Prophet / Heysel Massacre | ERA Music

I’ve been hooked on this synth monster from Austria ever since I crossed its path for the first time. Oad Siebensee going all meta over the course of nearly 10 minutes on his synths and message to “Stop Competitive Sports” in response to the disaster in the Heysel Stadium in 1985. Thanks to Oad and his Commodore Music Computer for this brain melter!

TIMEBLIND ‎– MOST EYE, THE RASTABOMBA REMIXES | ORTHLORNG

Still remember being all over of the soundscapes and beautifully distorted Hi-Hat sounds on Timeblind’s first LP Rugged Redemption on Kit Clayton’s Orthlorng Musork. This EP contains the LP version of The Rastabomba and some craaaaaaaazy remixes. Can’t say no to a heavily underrated cheapo!

Luke Vibert ‎– Ridmik | Hypercolour

Luke Vibert going full-length with his machinery on a 2 LP!? Obvious choice!

Loredana Bertè ‎– Loredana Bertè | CBS

I never manage to resist an Italian Pop Classic when it appears in a crate or stack of records, if it’s Loredana Bertè it becomes basically impossible. Her self-titled LP shown here is one also one of my most beloved sing-alongs when driving…

Zé Eduardo Nazario ‎– Poema Da Gota Serena | Lugar Alto

A friend pointed me once towards the, so far two, releases done by the Lugar Alto label. Wow! Beautiful reissue perfect to accompany a rather classy evening.
