A messenger from the future, that’s how we enter Rodrigo BRANDÃO’s ship (the journey has only just begun). In 2019 he moved to Portugal and brought with him what is known to be his first solo album “Outros Barato”. We fell in love with his voice and street poetry, it was instantaneous. Since then, the Brandão we know has continued his never-ending journey, accompanied by the best Portuguese jazz musicians and also by Sun Ra’s iconic Arkestra. There’s a star of intense brilliance crossing the skies of Lisbon at the moment, and it’s his new album, once again released by Comet Records. “Outros Estado” is the successor to “Outros Espaço”, the wisdom that comes from practice and study continues, Rodrigo is not a man to be bound by the laws of gravity. And this is just the beginning.
